Your Job Is Gone! Now What!

"What Ever Happened To The Great American Job?", "The
Pain of Downsizing"," The End of the Job," " Is the
American Worker Getting Shafted?" These are article
titles of recent articles published in recent years.
There is no more job security with companies folding,
Enron, downsizing, and thousands being laid off.
What do you do?
Keep your resume up-to-date? Start A business? Get
another job? Work from home? Investigate all of them.
In starting a business, make sure you have the right
qualities to succeed in business. Be careful of
opportunities that set you up selling the same thing
you just bought into. In other words, everyone is
selling the same product/service. And everyone receives
the same marketing tools. That means you are in
competition with everyone else in the program. It
is difficult to make money, because membership
websites (opt-in lists, mailing lists) contain sellers
-NOT BUYERS. The names go round and round.
Your best bet is to find an opportunity that offers a
variety of products to sell. And use your own
initiative to find other resources to market to. And
make your own advertising materials.
If you are ready to start your own business, look to
your hobbies and what you love to do. Set up a
business plan, stick with it, and get advice from
reputable sources, ex; SBA.
Working from home is a very alluring prospect. You
need to be very cautious here. Make sure you know
the difference between a work from home business and
a job (telecommuting). Advertisers are very clever
with their wording. Some Work From Home Opportunities
are deceiving. Here is the key. If you have to pay
for it, it is not a job. It is a business. You
don't pay employers. Employers pay you. If you are
looking for a job, be it telecommuting or at the
company, there are excellent places to search on the
web.
